Grandma gives thanks

“The unthankful heart discovers no mercies; but the thankful heart will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings.”

― Henry Ward Beecher

In recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday, folks all across the Internet have been posting their 30 days of thanks, listing each day of November something for which they're thankful.

I've not been doing that. Not because I don't have at least 30 things I'm thankful for, but because I don't have the attention span to list those 30 things for 30 days running. I know myself: I'd forget one day then have to make it up the next, only to find myself too busy to post and end up with a week's worth of thanks to share. (For exactly that reason — my crazy short attention span — don't expect to ever see a novel from me either. It's one trait I'm not particularly thankful for.)

I do have so much to be thankful for, though. In considering ways to share those during this Thanksgiving week, I chose to highlight the blessings for which I sincerely give thanks nearly every day of the year. Thankfully there are about 12 things — or at least a number I can successfully finagle to fit into 12, to fit into the following word.

For the following blessings I give thanks this holiday — and every day...

Three girls, my three lovely, amazing, inspirational girls.

Husband o' mine, my biggest fan and forever friend.

All of you who read my words, make them matter.

New days, new chances to try, try again.

Krazy friends and family: pals, parents, siblings, in-laws and more.

Sweet, silly — and shedding! — furkids.

Grandsons, of course! And all G-kids to come.

Income, both the hard-earned and the unexpected sorts.

Vittles. Courtesy that income that, surprisingly, keeps coming in.

Incredible place I call home.

Neverending number of blessings for which there's no letter here.

God. Without Him, I'd have none of the above.

Today's question:

Pick a letter — any letter from above — and share what you're thankful for.
