FaceTime milestone

I was telling my husband just the other day that one of the things about living in an empty nest is that time often seems to just go on and on as it's no longer marked by milestones delineating the months and years. The parenthood calendar revolves around things such as kids reaching those all-important ages, such as 16, 18, and 21. Or learning to drive, attending homecomings, celebrating graduations, and so much more.

As a grandparent of young grandchildren, the calendar is void of such huge milestones at this point. So I'll cherish and celebrate each and every little one that comes my way. Such as this from a week or so ago, a milestone shared with Baby Jak: our first time visiting with each other via FaceTime. (With huge thanks to Bubby for holding the phone on Jak's end so he could see Gramma and PawDad babble like banshees at him.)

Not as monumental as getting one's driver's license or college degree, but super sweet and memorable for Gramma and PawDad, nonetheless.
