In my world...
On my mind...
On NBC News Tuesday night, there was a report of an unscrupulous doctor who had been egregiously knowingly misdiagnosing patients with MS. Such a horrible thing to do. I have MS. BUT, though his actions are unconscionable, that's not what most stuck with me after viewing the report. What did stick with me was a comment from one of the women incorrectly diagnosed. She stated that upon being told she has MS, she devised her "suicide plan" as she didn't want to put her loved ones through the horrid situation to come.
Here's the report. The woman's offensive comment is at 1:49.
I may be a big ol' baby, but hearing such words made me cry. Yes, I have MS, but my life and what I "put my loved ones through" isn't so very horrid for one and all that I should off myself. It irked me that people are so ignorant of MS and how it affects those who have it and their families. (Didn't that woman do any research upon the diagnosis??) Yeah, MS sucks. But I've never considered killing myself because of it. And neither, I bet, have most MS patients, even those who have far more progressed and debilitating cases than mine. Or so I hope.

Today's question:
What's going on in your here and now?
